I actually don’t own a lot of gear.

I have a geared head because n one in Australia will pay for one on a job. The only way I can have the choice to use one is if I supply it !

I have a lor od DEDO lights, especially the more obscure ones gaffers don’t normally tend to carry…I also have a few kinos.

Mostly what I have is format agnostic. I’ve managed to pretty much avoid owning a camera….

I even managed to avoid getting a 5D.

All i’ve got is a buch of still shear (Olympus / Contax / Medium format) thats not shooting related

So actually most of the time I end up renting what I want.

I am though now…putting together a list of what I like and have even ordered some gear. i’m going to build up a BMCC kit for myself.

    Hello João Santos.

I would have thought there wasn’t much good reason at all to use this camera in a TV studio for news, which I presume is broadcasting live ?

For starters, none of the regular controls for zoom and focus on the cameras work. You’d be limited to what you can get with LANC control, and though it works with EF lenses, it’s not as good as broadcast style remote zoom demands or Focus. If you use b4 Lenses that were designed for SD television, I’d imagine you’d get very poor results when used with a HD camera, without even taking into account any other optical aberrations from the relay.

The camera also only outputs 1080p, which many switchers won’t work with.

The camera will give beautifully recorded results. I just don’t think it would be a very sensible choice for anything live. That’s not to say you couldn’t do it, but I doubt it would be worth the trouble,

HI. The camera I shot this with is a hand built prototype. They haven’t finished working on the sensor calibration yet, that takes care os noise, and dead pixels. This is very early days for this camera.

This is also why the ISO and Noise is still very much up for grabs.
