  • I know this is an old post, but I thought I’d add my workaround to this issue incase others find themselves here looking for answers after a google search, like I did.

    If you have a version of the wipe you like and don’t want to have to modify settings every time you apply a wipe to your project, then do the following.
    You can’t directly copy and paste a wipe transition between projects, but you can copy and paste a selection that includes a wipe transition.
    So, keep a version of the wipe that you like in a project, with some clip media either side of it. Using the range tool, select both clips and the wipe transition in the middle, and copy and paste into an empty part of your project. Now the wipe is inside your project it can be copied and duplicated as you wish. Delete the 2 redundant pieces of media that came over with the wipe, and you’re done!

    Not exactly elegant, but I can’t find any other way to save, and then use in a different project, a modified version of the old Quartz based transitions.
