I know this is old, as are most threads I stumble upon for problems I’m facing, but I am wondering the same thing. I NEVER want to use audio keyframes in the effect control panel and why this is selected by default is baffling and aggravating. If I want to keyframe my audio, I’ll do it in the timeline-or at least start it there and fine tune levels in the effects panel.
I’m going to continue searching for a way to disable this. As a recent Final Cut convert (for a job) I’m finding that Adobe Premiere is the king of requiring multiple clicks to do things you can do with one in FCP.
