I can’t answer your question, however can tell you what I did last time created/rendered something in vegas. Create a very short clip from the original file, ie cut 15min down to 15secs and render that to the output you eventually want to create. Experiment with rendering settings to get the best quality and fastest time. It could be you are doing something unnecessary or could be result not what you are looking for. I rendered an .mts file to a dvd and took me a long time to get settings right before I got result was looking for. The fastest way, I found, was to merge multiple .mts files (or .m2ts) with TSmuxer (free) then use ConvertXtoDVD. Basically skip Vegas altogether. I have no clue why after 9 versions Vegas is so slow rendering. It’s beyond me…
