Sorry to necro a thread but it seemed to make more sense than to create an entirely new one about this.
I just tried using a difference matte on CGI renderings. The avi is uncompressed, so this test case is as perfect as could possibly be. The difference matte still fails to locate the moving object.
I was just responding to Barrie’s “How many editors does it take?” comment.
Anyway, actually the “Calculations” filter will work just fine. I didn’t know that existed. I guess it probably renders slower than the keyers would’ve but it’s much better than not having it at all. Thanks!
I’m aware of what layer needs to have the effect applied to, I said so in my original post. The other key effects, chromakey, garbage matte, etc, are working. It is specifically screen and multiply that aren’t.
