POV from person waking up effect is seldom achieved effectively with only that POV effect.
This effect is best achieved when you set the effect up. And, like almost all editing… effects are only as effective as the setup.
That being said, you can get achieve your waking-up POV better effect when you apply a peripheral-like view from the camera. By that I mean you may need to use a fish-eye lens effect with a stronger center focus and softer edge focus… and, they you transition to a clearer focus set to a wide angle lens like view… and, gradually working to the normal film focus you will use for the entire clip.

I am missing something… I don’t understand the spreadsheet part of your workflow…
Did you look at these tutorials…
https://www.imagineersystems.com/products/mocha-AE/Mocha_screen_exports_AE.mp4
https://library.creativecow.net/articles/rabinowitz_aharon/Mocha_Tut_1/Tutorial/mocha.html
The file used to move tracking data by AE is a .txt file.

Are you referencing Mocha AE 0r Mocha?
If it is Mocha, I have never exported to a spreadsheat… I just exported it to AE… or, I simply cut and paste the data.
Also, I have never seen all of CS3 or any version of AE gray out… what exactly “gray’s out”.

Thanks…
I think my confusion comes from the Mac vs. Windows aspect of the workflow…
At any rate, I wish there was a sticky that described certain frequently asked questions about AE codec format and work flow combo’s for both Mac and Windows HD codecs (including MiniDV as well as P2).
As it stands, it pretty difficult to find answers to some pretty frequent questions I see posted with regard to HD. But, then again… I may be missing something in my searches and there may be a good thread (or threads) that exists somewhere in this forum.

Does the RGB Avi format meed the criteria you mentioned… my guess is – yes.
Joe
BTW, I did a search and the RGB avi doesn’t fit into your “no go” formats… i.e., Native HDV, MPEG1, MPEG2, mp4, m2t, H.261 or H.264.

Thanks… but, isnt’ the DVCPROHD compression type different that the mpeg2 (m2v) compressed format?
And, I was always under the impression that changing between compression types cause some degradation in quality.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to go from the current mpeg2 (HD) to a more universal codec of RGB Avi format? It seems the only problem would be the size of the Avi file. Am I missing something?

Isn’t there a quality loss when you make this codec conversion?
I use Avid Liquid and it uses the native HD video codec of m2v… it seems working in a .mov would be counter-productive in terms of quality of video.

You can also use “Blender” to create 3D text… but, the learning curve is a bit steap and the work flow for file transfer isn’t as simple and easy to use as Zackworks… but, Blender is Free and a rather powerful 3D application.

You don’t need to shoot them seperately but it would make things easier.
The other option may be to rotscope each object…
