Are you referencing Mocha AE 0r Mocha?

If it is Mocha, I have never exported to a spreadsheat… I just exported it to AE… or, I simply cut and paste the data.

Also, I have never seen all of CS3 or any version of AE gray out… what exactly “gray’s out”.

well, first of all, I’m talking about the standalone Mocha, not the plug-in. Secondly, I copy the data to a spreadsheet and copy it but when i go to select ‘paste’ in AE, it’s grey and i can’t click it.

I am missing something… I don’t understand the spreadsheet part of your workflow…

Did you look at these tutorials…

    https://www.imagineersystems.com/products/mocha-AE/Mocha_screen_exports_AE.mp4

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/rabinowitz_aharon/Mocha_Tut_1/Tutorial/mocha.html

The file used to move tracking data by AE is a .txt file.

yeah, i understand what you’re saying but that doesn’t work either. No matter how I do it, whether it’s copying straight from the text file, converting the txt into a spreadsheet and THEN copying it, or even just copying to the clipboard straight from mocha; No matter which method I use, the paste command cannot be clicked in AE due to the fact that it’s grayed out.

This is a known AE bug.
Here is a solution I found on Motionwiki…

Short name: After Effects 7 (Win & Mac): Copy & Paste does not insert text from external apps. Description: Copying text from external programs like Textpad, Word and others does not work sometimes. Solution/ Workaround: Restart After Effects.–Mylenium 04:23, 5 December 2006 (PST)
