Well I DID try out Motion 3 (briefly) on a demo 17″ MacBook Pro at the Apple 5th Ave store the other day and dragging just 3 iPhoto images onto a HD template (the one with lots of blocks flying in from upper left to lower right I forget the name) slowed Motion to a standstill.

I think if you really want to work in Motion 3 I’d suggest getting a MacPro with a *beefy* video card. FWIW.

Well you can forget about the MacBook. Don’t have one but since Motion relies heavily on the GPU, the MacBook Pro will be a far better choice.

Here’s a BareFeats test from July 2007 that will give you an idea . . .

Along with the final version of Tiger 10.4.11, Apple yesterday released a series of ProApps updates which ensure Leopard compatibility and improve speed and stability etc under Tiger 10.4.11

Check out the Apple website or Software Update . . .

Thanks Alan, but this screen is meant as an 8′ high teaser to attract people to our booth where they can see our images in portfolio and book form.

    I appreciate your post!

    Thank you Michael. Well done.

I saw the link to this on DVX User and have to say you inspired me to try the demo and then buy the product which arrived today.

I really only wanted Shake for its great smooth cam and slo-mo capabilities and you have completely jump-started my ability to use this deep deep app to get some great results within a few minutes of installing the program.

    Kudos & Many many thanks!
