Thank you all for your comments. I believe it’s quite unanimous, FCP is obviously the only answer. Someone commented that Avid hasn’t come into the equation, to date, only one person has sent me an Avid disc in the last 10 years. The others have always been predominately FCP and occasionally premiere and Vegas. So yes, in my books Sony has lost this war of mine, and I have no alternative then switching to where it makes good business sense.

Strangely enough, I cannot seem to get the “Hi Def” link anymore, I don’t think my settings have changed. Could it be possible that the way it’s set out in the properties have anything to do with it, or is it just in the render template? See my hi def sample:

    Thanks for your help.
I checked out the VASST Tutorial, and I hadn’t realised that you can actually get, not only HIGH QUALITY but true HIGH DEFINITION on YouTube! Now I can get the high quality I was looking for.

If anyone else has achieved this, I’d love to see what you posted. Here’s my Vegas Pro edited TVC in High Quality: https://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Xfx8FFW50SU

I wish there was a way to effectively transfer files from Vegas to After FX whether it being m2t files or .AVI’s because as much as I love Vegas I’m considering changing due to these issues. If anyone knows the best settings, even for DV files, I would greatly appreciate it. Sure, DV files work but the colours and contrasts change considerably. And outputting to frames, especially in HDV is such a headache with long projects. As for converting to MPG, I’ll have to see if it does what it’s suppose to.
