And… this worked. Thanks so much!!!

So it makes sense that maybe a file is corrupt – but the problem is that I have a 90 minute feature doc that is needing to get to audio mix down and when I gave the studio an AAF it had 500 timelines and was all out of sync. So we are trying to get it to premier and now its bombing. Its a feature doc on a pretty large scale. How do I find out what file is corrupt and get rid of it. I litereally have 18 or so audio timelines and at least 12 video timelines…

Graham,
I did try both. I just didn’t mention the export option because I didn’t see the need. When I try to export it as a Premier file it starts to export and then bombs every time on every system after a couple of minutes.
SO…
I looked into the save as option to see if maybe its easier to export if I have saved it as another file version.
BUT…
I only have the one .veg file version option.
Make sense?
Happy Holidays and thanks for your help.

Yes, I have tried it on multiple computers. Each time I try it, it bombs after about 2-3 minutes. This is what I am trying to figure out. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks John, this is the way I have always done it, but it feels cumbersome. Also, if I need to make changes to the edit, its a lot more work to move key frames around. Because I will be doing this on a 90 minute film, I was hoping there would be some plugin that I could use. Oh well… I suppose I will do it “old school.” thanks for the reply.

Thanks guys. I do know about key framing – this always feels slow to me. But I suppose it is the best way Vegas has to do about it… Thanks for your help.

I think I understand all the settings, but even when I have them all set to what I believe is perfect, I press the Render button and the same thing happens. It tells me its done in a split second and spits out a .mov.sfl file… not sure whats going on here!

I assume you are talking about deleting it in my render folder? If so, yes I have done so and restarted Vegas and the computer. I found this interesting tidbit on another post. So far it hasn’t helped….

September 23, 2015 at 1:54 am in reply to: Need to render out for Color Correction and Theatrical Release.Aaron. thanks for responding. You obviously are far more Vegas savvy than I. See my reply below.
Do you have render selected timeline area enabled, and are you selecting the entire project you want rendered?
— At this point I am merely trying to render out a 30 second test. I have “render loop region only” selected and have no idea where “Render Selected Timeline” is.
What rendering as settings and DNxHD profile are you using right now, and how does that compare to your project settings and source material.
— My project settings are HD 1080-24p (1920×1080, 23.976 fps). My footage is between 4K and 1080p. All footage frame rates is 23.976. I made sure that when I downloaded the DNxHD that I selected the correct frame rate. Does that answer your question??
Do you need to render to dnxhd.mov? Is all your source media in DNxHD already?
— A professional Color Corrector company is charging the film 8 grand to Collor Correct. They have never worked with Vegas and they fond the web page to help me render out the film… the page mentioned in my post that isn’t seeming to work. All my source media is… not sure. I shot the film on everything from DSLR’s, a few Gopro’s and the RED ONE.
There is not a whole lot of info on your planned workflow from Source media, to Vegas project settings, to CC application requirements, to display format conversion(DCP for example.)
— To show you exactly who you are helping out… I have no idea what the above paragraph means 🙂
Highest quality is really determined by your source material, and carrying that level through to your display format.
— If you have a format that keeps my quality and gets this out the door, I am all ears!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
