Thanks for the input. I have just learned to deal with the banding. I guess the real time color transform is the best explanation that can be given. How hard is that for Adobe to fix this problem? Seems like a pretty big one considering that the whole point of working in a linearized work space is to achieve better results. Thanks again.
No, and I am skeptical that would work because I have tried on multiple machines. I will say that I am working over black and it’s more noticeable. A easy way to see the “problem” is to set up your project as described before and make a ramp over black. Make an extremely gradual fade and animate it. You will see what I am talking about. Thanks again.
I have tried all options for the Fast Previews and none fix it. I do have color management on and I am not simulating any output, although I did try to and it still did not fix it. I don’t know what else to try.
That’s interesting that you have never heard of this problem. I have it on multiple computers (mac and pc). It looks great when I am parked and when I do a real render, but with an AE preview it bands really bad. My preview settings are all set properly too. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the help guys. I decided to work with HDTV Linearized Work Space. Something weird is happening though, when I preview it bands really bad. However, when I am parked or output a movie it renders great. Any idea why this would be happening? Thanks in advance.
There is no footage in the comp, it is all graphics created from either photos, photoshop, etc. So it sounds like all is ok, I animated at 29.97 and I will just add UFF pulldown to my final render. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for the responses. Kevin, when I do render this out I need to select 3:2 pulldown correct? I tried to render it with out by just selecting UFF and it still is 29.97. If I do need to select 3:2, does it matter which order to arrange the frames in? Thanks a lot!
