There is no Encore CS3 trial.

On a 3.0 GHz system with 1 GB or RAM, that would take about 90-120 minutes to transcode.

Sounds like the AC3 decoder on your PC is having trouble?

That’s the right thing to do.
What are your system specs? Did you add any processing to the transcoding? (i.e. video noise reduction)

It is now a preference.
The default preference is to not change any button text layers when linking, but to change the button name in the Layers panel to the name of the linked object.
However, you can set the preference to sync at all, or one of several of syncing behaviors when linking buttons:
Do not sync anything when linking (pre-Encore 2.0 behavior)
– or –
Sync
1. Button name to linked object name (this is considered handy to instantly see which button is linked to which object just by looking at the Layers panel)
2. Button text layer to linked object name
3. Button name and text layer to linked object name (Encore 2.0 default behavior) -
You can add PDF files to the ROM section of a DVD in Encore.
Anything else must be done externally, and then added to the ROM section in Encore before burning.

Not at this time. If you would like to HD-DVD as an output format, be sure to file a feature request on Adobe’s web site.

Sounds like the LG player may have an issue playing MPEG stills with duration.
You could add random pan & zoom, which will create MPEG video that should avoid the issue. However, this means larger file size in the DVD as well. That may be an acceptable compromise.

Export the frame you want to use in the timeline, then import it as an asset in Encore.
Then add the asset to the menu, scale it down and position it where you want it in your button.

Rather than using a timeline and a menu, do this with a single menu, use the clip you produced in AE as the video background, and then set the Loop Point to the timecode at which the buttons should become active.
