No, it’s best to start your menu over again beginning at the correct HD size.
You may be able to make it all less painful by saving buttons and other elements in the Library, and then re-add them to your new HD menu.

I know Encore’s built-in encoder (Adobe Media Encoder, MPEG-2 by MainConcept) is faster than that – SD video is usually just a bit slower than real-time for me, so that an hour of video takes just over an hour to encode.

Try over in Adobe’s own Encore User Forum – one of the resident experts, Neil Wilkes, has used Gear Pro extensively.

You can do it in Premiere/Adobe Media Encoder. Just choose a MPEG-2 for DVD preset.
Note: I have heard that better quality can be obtained by first putting the clip in a standard definition sized Premiere sequence, scaling it down to fit the frame, and then using AME to export to MPEG-2 for DVD.

When you say 720p, you’re referring to 1280×720, right?
That must be transcoded if you are building a DVD. DVD frame sizes must be 720×480/576 NTSC/PAL.

Yeah, it sounds like it’s probably an issue with MPEG-2 not being licensed by default on Windows systems.
Nothing you can do about that, Gina…except maybe either convince them to install a software DVD player or get a Mac. 🙂

As far as I know DVDSP is perfectly capable of producing DVDs that can play on DVD players.
What actually is happening on the systems having problems? Codec error? Or is the disc not being recognized?

How about the Background layer? For buttons, there should be none. And don’t forget, import into the Library, not into the project.

I don’t know Lingo myself, but ActionScript is a lot like Java (not JavaScript) – in other words, it’s an object-oriented programming language.
