Any time you add movement to text FCP will have to render.

Put the Doves image on video track 3
Put the Boris Text “Peace” (white letters) on video track 2
Put your White background on video track 1

Right click on the Doves image and change the Composite Mode to Travel Matte – Luma

This should give you the effect you want.

Sounds like you stumbled across a very good lens, especially a f1.8. Don’t worry about the stabilization you can use Final Cut Smooth Motion or some other program to steady the shot if it really needs it, or use a tripod.

Do you have some type of Server or Maintenance program running overnight? Sometimes these will index your files giving them a different Last Modified date which can throw off FCP when it tries to relink.
I can’t think of an explanation for the duplication or deleted files.

Change the VIEW MODE of the filter to FINAL.
The green markers appear in the Preview and Wireframe modes.

Try lowering the volume and adding a little bit of Reverberation or AU Delay filter. It can also help to reduce the amount of the lower frequencies (EQ) to add to the distance effect.

You can “Send To” the audio directly from the FCP7 timeline to Soundtrack Pro and use its Normalize function in the Process menu.

You may be able to batch process all your files, but you’ll have to figure that out I haven’t done it with BWF files.
