  • Thanks for the reply. All of the images are black and white, and I just wondered whether it would look better to keep the framing of the images within the pillar box, and shift around within that frame?

I’m not too familiar with what your suggestion looks like, though I’m open to exploring possibilities! Do you know where I might see an example of this kind of thing online?

  • Just one last question – if you happen to know:

Do you know where in the Video_TS folder I would go (and ultimately open up in MediaInfo, to find out the settings for the whole DVD itself?

I’ve opened all of the files and get different info for each item in the V_TS folder.

Any idea which of the below I should be looking at info for, to get the specs of the whole DVD?:

    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks very much, that was a great help. I downloaded it and it was just what I was after.

August 23, 2013 at 6:10 pm in reply to: FCP Timeline Audio Problem

I have deleted the audio render files (Render Manager) for one of the affected sequences, and it made no difference. In fact I discovered that other parts of the sequence are now being affected.

Furthermore, it’s not just audio clips but also video. I placed a series of short sound bites in a row and one whole section has all of them slipped i.e. the audio begins later than it originally did and cuts out abruptly before it should, and also with the video now in that section.

I am at a complete loss and desperately worried about how to safeguard the project. The audio sample rate is all as it should be 48khz etc, and now video is being affected…

If anyone can advise, I’d be enormously grateful for more suggestions, before my main timeline is affected.

I know I could create a new project just for the “master” timeline as it were, but I want to get to the bottom of what is happening and why, in case the whole project become corrupted or buggy in some new way…

Thank you both for your feedback. I will look into deleting the render files. I have checked the audio rate and timeline settings to ensure that everything matches, and they do.

This problem arose suddenly on two sequences, and I don’t quite know how or why! If anyone else has come across this issue before, kindly let me know.

I found out how to do it.

For those who may have the same problem: I went to iTunes > Preferences > Import Settings > I selected Custom from the Setting drop-down list > select your desired Sample Rate.

    Thank you Ernie!

I’ve checked, and yes you are right, my project audi setting is 48khz, and the tracks I am using are 44. Can you advise me of the best/easiest way of converting these tracks to 44 khz, on a mac? Thanks.

    Thanks Ernie,

I will look into that. It’s never been a problem before on this project though, which I’ve been working on for months on end, and I haven’t altered any settings. But perhaps they never matched in the first place. I will check and return here if it doesn’t solve the problem.

    Thanks again.

Just to clarify, it’s though the music has gone out of sync, and the start of the media actually snatches sound (music) from later on in the track and plays it at the start… I hope I’m communicating this clearly. I don’t know how else to describe it! The playback is as though the music track has been cut off at the start – but the waveforms show that the full track is actually there, but just not playing correctly for some reason….
