Fair enough. You have to do what your business dictates. It fits my timeframe just fine. I’m sure it messes up al to of peoples. Better than HP’s former CEO saying directly and for sure, we are no longer going to make PC’s. That was direct enough. Put a few folks on edge. It also turned out to not be true. No one can predict the future. I’m still happy to see the report.

That’s a pretty rude comment, Gary. I’m just putting up what Forbes was told, You can value it as you wish. I would like to believe it because I like the Mac Pro. Because I would like to believe it might not make it true. Didn’t expect such hostility to a potentially positive report.

The title of the article: Apple Says New Models, Designs for iMac, Mac Pro In Works, Due in 2013
What is not direct about “Apple Says” to a Forbes reporter? If you think Tim Cook is going to go onstage and make a huge announcement about 2013 products (Mac Pro and iMac) or post something on the Apple website you will be disappointed. That won’t happen. I’m surprised and happy to see this much.

You’re not going to get a press release for something that is happening next year. This is pretty unusual for Apple to feed to Forbes as it is.

Apple is confirming to Forbes the 2013 story reported by David Pogue in yesterday’s New York Times that there would be new Mac Pros in 2013. That is two major press stories. Pogue’s direct quote confirmed by Apple:
“Many Apple observers also wonder if Apple thinks that desktop computers are dead, since not a word was said about the iMac and Mac Pro. An executive did assure me, however, that new models and new designs are under way, probably for release in 2013.”
The Forbes followup story states that the desktops are specifically the Mac Pro and iMac. I can understand the skepticism after the letdown yesterday, I know I wasn’t happy, but these are two very large circulation respected publications which I doubt Apple would be releasing info to if it weren’t true. They are not 9to5 Mac.
