Can you not just free transform the layer and distort/perspective as per with P/Shop? I don’t think Illustrator has a true 3D space, like After Effects does. Though I wish it did! (Likewise for P/shop!)

If I’m wrong please someone show me where it is and I’ll smile allday long!

Put the ones you DO want to affect in another folder and set the batch processor to THAT folder. When doen, just cut & paste them back into the folder you want them in.

Bloody macheads eh!…all they have to do is set their prefs to include file extensions..nehmind.

Easiest way is to rename the file as .doc or .txt and open in notepad – I think at the top of the code it generates (or it might be at the very bottom?..) it will tell you which app created the file and it’s type.

Then just rename as correct file type and bob’s your sister’s brother.

Can’t really see the problem from that still, but if it’s flickering that’s the problem then my first thought is that those thinnest lines are too thin..try applying a very light vertical directional blur to them and see if that fixes it?

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for that..so I can backup data onto an LTO (?) in the same way I’d burn to a DVD? Is that a bit like a DLT tape drive?

However, if I’m using top quality Verbatim DVD-R stock and storing it in a protective environment, shouldn’t it keep for quite a while?

Just trying to weigh up options, but I guess money will be an issue upto a point if we’re getting high-capacity HDD storage in the near future. I’ll lok into LTO. Ta.

I wonder if you could set up an action for this? Can you apply actions to different layers? It might make it a bit quicker if it works.

Tis a strange one that…first thoughts are that your text/white info is too thin and there’s some weird aliasing issue going on here. It almost looks like a power surge or something?..Am I seeing the right thing here?

Try applying a blur to the whole thing and see if it still does it then?

You could always WinRar your footage for archiving purposes?

BTW – What medium do people suggest for keeping footage/edit projects on? I tend to rar my files up and put onto DATA DVD and keep them in a opditracker, so they are easy to find and access. Other than back onto tape (not an option when keeping AFX & Video Toaster projects intact) or keeping on HDDs, what are my options for mid to long-term storage?

We may be getting an XRAID with hot-swappable drives in the near future, but until then I could do with a solution that ensures my data is safe.

Have I got this wrong….If you’re working with DVCAM then isn’t firewire going to be just as effective as SDI? I was of the understanding that you only benefit from SDI if using either uncompressed D1 footage, or something very slightly compressed like DigiBeta? Surely DV footage is a much lower bandwidth, hence why you can use firewire..

This isn’t a dig, I’m genuinely interested in the differences – constantly trying to understand formats and compression better.
