Great tute Pete!

The anchor point expression thing came in really handy today on a 5hr roto job of a couple of people jumping in the air legs splayed….Just a shame the client didn’t really notice the resulting 3 second animation! Might aswell have used a still! Bah! It’s what they asked for though…

The time we spend on the littlest things eh? Will anyone ever notice?!

Yikes, better not do anymore still Graphics and captions in AE then!

After something you said last week about keeping everything in AE Mylenium, I tried doing an entire job from within AE today (a roto & animation and then a bunch of still captions with mattes for the NLE) and whilst the font search is a bit rubbish in AE it was a fairly good workflow in all….until that is, it came to saving numbered matte/master stills out of AE! Quite a long and clumsy process, but then I guess AE isn’t for stills – hence I’ll be using PS for the majority of my work still…

…and just hope the folks at Adobe make AE&PS play a little more friendly together! 🙂

I’m on IE for PC….I ended up downloading the QT mov and watched it in QT player. Good stuff, thanks Pete! Should come in really useful on Monday 🙂

On a similar theme, does anyone know if it is possible to retain text layers as editable text in PS when saving a PSD out of AE?

Hi guys,

I’ve got a biggish roto job coming up, so really fancy watching this…but it doesn’t seem to be loading..I’m getting the light blue BG screen and a brief QT logo pop up just before it, but no movie.

Any ideas?

No, I’m afraid it’s still not working…what I applied before was without the quotation marks. It applies without an error message now, but doesn’t seem to be doing anything than if there were no expression added at all.

Just incase it’s something else going wrong…

I am applying the expression to the Motion Tile Tile Center property, which itself has an easy ease interpolation applied to the the KFs. I’ve pulled the curve about a bit in the Graph editor to get it to speed up and slow down just right. But on the other hand – I just changed the KFs back to linear to see if it was that and the reel just spun constantly as a loop with that expression applied…..?!?
