Thanks for the positive feedback. Thank you Rob for posting the correct link — not sure what happened.

As for the flash effects — there are a few different things happening. One was the use of Vegas glow effect set to wipe to full white on the end of one clip and on the next clip wipe from full white back the other direction. A bit of key framing and fiddling with the parameters is involved here.

The other is actually a short bit of footage of the sun with lens flare. (overlaid over the edit point)

And the other type is Digital Juice ‘Swipes’ (liquid light) effect. I Basically sped up the clip, adjusted the opacity (to make it transparent) and enlarged it to fill the frame to taste. I also changed the blending mode on the track (all flash effects) to either ‘burn’ or ‘add.’ Throughout the video I used a combination of the above methods — sometimes two together.

The swipes look great I think — very organic, which is what I really wanted. In the beginning of the video I was trying to create the look via Vegas plugs and wasn’t quite nailing it. There are only two of these in the beginning, but left them in due to time…
