    I go into the video TS folder and try to open the vts fiels and i get the Quicktime 6 MPEG 2 playback component is not installed

    You will miss the two most important features of MPEG Streamclip:
    – you won’t be able to play MPEG-2 files and transport streams;
    – you won’t be able to convert MPEG-2 files and transport streams to QuickTime, DV, AVI.

    the mpeg streamclip is telling me i need to buy something from apple to run it from a dvd and the others cost between 80 and 120 dollars. One thing i tried was to compress is to mpeg4 in handbrake and then bring it to dv in streamclip but i imagine i’m losing quality with that. haven’t seen in on a tv though.

Basically, i have been making experimental films from 16mm, super8mm and dv for a number of years. I am fine editing everything in 30fps.. i don’t imagine at this point that i’ll need the 24pA mode. This is pretty much what i want. I know there is a HDV easy set up and DV 24p easy set up but i think this is the first HDV 24p camera out there. Not sure though.

    24p Normal
    When shooting in 24p Normal, the camera is adding normal standard 3:2 pulldown to the video, which results in 24p footage designed to work with any non-linear editing suite and it will play back and look good directly to any NTSC monitor. You can use 24p Normal footage just like normal video from any DV camera, and everything will work fine, but obviously, the footage will have a film look to it. If you

    Does anyone have info on how this will look after editing in 29.97fps. And does the conversion basically make shooting in 24p pointless?
