I too am having this problem (in both AE and Final Cut) and have decided that this set of plugins is not for me. I am running the trial version (2.06) on a MacBook Pro. Glad it was just the trial and I hadn’t forked out the $2,800 to buy. I know they are supposed to be good but I just can’t afford the down time stuffing around with buggy software.

Hi Steve. No there is no waveform associated with the clip in the timeline. No preview with the period key. It doesn’t seem to matter what codec, it’s just pissed with all HD footage. Here’s the weird bit though, I can preview the clip with audio from the project window. It’s just when I apply the clip to a comp that the audio goes walkabout. All other footage is fine (ie SD or smaller).
I have completely removed CS3 from my mac and reinstalled and the problem remains. I have spoken with Adobe support and they too are stumped. I suspect that some other program is interfering. Although I must admit CS3 is really letting me down with all it’s out of memory bugs (I have more RAM than you could poke a stick at) and QuickTime export errors. I have never had a problem with AE prior to this release and I have been a user since 4.

We definately have a signal coming out of the Ultimatte hence the 1080i capture. All is good until we try to capture 720p then nada. We have even cut out the Ultimatte and gone straight from the camera (sdi) into the computer (I probably should give specs… Mac Pro 8 core, 16 GB RAM, 4 x 750 GB HD’s) and still no 720p.
Speed and volume is the key to our success which is why we are not ingesting via the P2 cards (way too time consuming converting all those damn MXF files).
