    Thanks for the suggestions.

I will try the Sapphire trial and the by manual (add edit) repair as well. Luckily it’s just two shots in the film. They are both important so I’m stuck either way. I’ll even be happy with minor improvement. I’ll report back if one or the other works better. Will get to this work in about 3 weeks.

Still taking suggestions in the meantime.

    Thanks,
    Jet

I think a flicker remove filter would be a good place to start. Sapphire is a bit out of the price range. If anyone has found one that worked well and is affordable, please let me know.

I’ll keep looking and will test some demos too.

    Thanks!!

It is an issue with windows/mac compatibility. So I need to either find a way to remove the extra file or create a PC compatible file.

Interestingly, there is an export function on the Lion version of QT that allows you to export a PC compatible file. This WORKED! Caveat is that it will not convert a file that has been output directly with Apple Pro Res 422 from FCP. So you need to compress the file elsewhere (using Compressor or third party app) then bring it back into QT and then export as 1080 compatible with Mac and PC. I would like to not have to compress the files as much, but it still looks great.

This was a total hassle and it was nice to find a solution. Still find it strange that I have to process the file twice to get it to work. So any other/better solutions are welcome!

To clarify, I AM able to play my file, it’s just that the device then tries to play the next file which is an empty metadata file. It then aborts autoplay due to not being able to play this file and the looping is over. I need this file to loop 24/7 for about a month!

    Thanks for your reply!
I have the Micca slim HD player. I think it can play HD 1080i. The issue may be an OS Lion issue… I heard the below back from Micca support. Now I am still trying to figure out how to delete the extra file and not having much luck. Very frustrating!

    Hi,

This is a common issue with Mac computers:

It’s possible to delete them but you have to know how to use the Mac command prompt. It’s probably much easier to delete the files using a Windows PC.
