You are looking at the output module settings. The settings(right above that on the render window) I was talking about is AE only and completely independent of the codec. Render setting based on: “best settings” is what I’m talking about.

I think I know the cause. When you add it to the render que, go to render settings and one of the options is field render, which for some reason is set to none, if you change that to upper/lower first then I think you get back the interlaced footage. I may be completely wrong.

I ended up getting Lagarith, which is suppose to be a good editing lossless format. I decided to try it out and just put my video into AE, and made movie, just changed settings to this codex. It worked differently than how I expected since it also de-interlaced the video, which was a nice supprise. It looks like in the export settings AE had the field set to none, so it de-interlaced the footage somehow, anyway not sure how but I ended up with decent de-interlaced footage in a decent format.
I’m a little concerned about how good the de-interlace was but from what I can tell its pretty dam amazing….

Is there anything I should know about my mistake that seems to work well.

So what version of cineform do I need. There are lots. Also do I need to de-interlace or not?
