    Tangier- My first thought would be that some of the media was inadverntantly digitized to the Macintosh HD (system drive) and FCP is struggling to play the footage. Try Get Info on the MacHD. With all my software I still have 120 gb available on my system drive. If your system drive is loaded you have something on it that shouldn’t be there. The other issue might be too many applications open but I see you have 4gb of RAM so that shouldn’t be the problem. Hope this helps. Jerry

    Jim- This is a long shot guess but it may be VITC/Longitudinal time code issue. Sometimes a Beta SP tape will get both codes put on and they are not in sync. The BVW 75 has a TC switch in the underpanel for VITC or Longitudinal or Auto. Watch on the deck time code panel when its running to find the clip and see if the timecode is correct. VITC is for when the tape is running at slow speeds and longitudinal is for fast speed. It could be as easy as flipping that switch. Hope this helps. Jerry
