I’ve used the Stealth Serial Port on a G4 733 successfully for years but having a problem now. I use it to control a BVW-75 Deck, editing with Final Cut Pro. When I log I have complete machine control and create list with the proper in/out timecode markers. My problem is when I go to capture the deck searches and then says it can’t find the timecode.

Do you have any suggestions of what might be happening?

Jim- This is a long shot guess but it may be VITC/Longitudinal time code issue. Sometimes a Beta SP tape will get both codes put on and they are not in sync. The BVW 75 has a TC switch in the underpanel for VITC or Longitudinal or Auto. Watch on the deck time code panel when its running to find the clip and see if the timecode is correct. VITC is for when the tape is running at slow speeds and longitudinal is for fast speed. It could be as easy as flipping that switch. Hope this helps. Jerry

Thanks Jerry, I didn’t know that switch existed. I was able to get most clips captured finally and I think it may have been trying to capture to close to a break. At least knowing that switch is there now I can play with that if I get further trouble.
