[waverideco] “Yes I’ve tried programs like Gspot. I know the end format, just not how to get there.”

What exactly is the end format? If you can tell us exactly what that format is, we might be able to tell you how to get there.

[waverideco] “But Professional HD material from windows and microsoft play great. Working backwards.. how do they do it?”

Did you try taking some of this “Professional HD material” and analyzing it with a program like Gspot to see what format it is?

[pekin] “when i install the driver of fx 570, then the system crashes… if i don not install the driver, it doesn’t crash. “

Yet, you can take the Xena out of the machine and install the driver for the FX 570 and the system won’t crash?

You’ve got the FX 570 in the PCIe x16 slot right?

    Bah, can’t edit…

Have you tried the Xena in both the x1 and the x4 PCIe slots?

Do you have the Xena installed on the x1 or the x4 slot? Have you tried both slots?

I’m not sure what “any driver installed and the system is down” means.

Do you have any other PCI cards? The block diagram for that motherboard shows all PCI cards sharing the same bus with the network controller chip, except the x16 PCIe slot. You might have some conflict with another PCI card and the Xena.

Did you try the latest driver from nVidia? Chances are the one that came with the card isn’t the current one.

You are talking about 2 problems…

    1. Premiere Pro Performance
    2. Playback of HD output from Premiere Pro

To improve #1, you are going to need to get Cineform or change your hard drive configuration like suggested by me and another person.

To improve #2, you are probably going to want to output some sort of compressed format. Did you try H.264?

Part of your problem is disk I/O. You aren’t going to get by with just a single 80 gig RAID 0. You want a separate system drive, separate scratch/project drive and separate media RAID array at the minimum.

  • ProAnimator is the most “user friendly” I’ve seen.
