Thank you so much! They fit perfectly. Do you just have a good subtitle editor? I tried adjusting the framerate in Jubler but the end result was the same.

The subtitles are about 3 seconds behind the audio and video about an hour in.

Hi,
I’ve included a link to the dropbox folder with two SRT files and my encore folder. In the project, I’ve got a subtitle track that’s drifting for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a good idea. Still have to go through all my sequences but it maybe faster.
Thanks.

Just curious what the model number of the TV that you snagged? Or if anyone has any specific model numbers of TVs that will work in this situation.
I am working on a feature that’s in a similar situation. Project is in 23.98. We were originally using a rental system until I guess they ran out of money or decided they didn’t want to pay for it anymore. They picked up a used Mac Pro with a used DeckLink Extreme HD for a ridiculously low price. But we are currently having a problem monitoring our project.
We don’t have the option for HDMI, not part of the card we have.
So we have Component. I’ve only been able to get a 1080i 59.94 signal on any set (he’s brought three others before today). He (the director) picked up an Open Box LG 37″ 60hz 1080p LCD (37CS560) today. It did get some kind of signal but it was on the left side of the screen and stretched vertically. I checked all the DeckLink and TV settings but nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.
Oh, and we are using Avid MC 6.5 on OS X 10.7.
I’m assuming the TV he brought today doesn’t fully support 24p. Would getting a 120hz set fix the issue? If I’m wrong, please let me know. If you agree and have a specific TV rec, that’s great too.

I ended up scaling it in FCP. I nested the sequence at 1080i and it looked a lot better than what Compressor or Adobe Media Encoder was giving me.
I then took it to Compressor and then did the frame rate conversion.
Everything looks great now! It took a lot of experimenting to get the right brew of settings that didn’t look bad or take 3 days.
Thanks!

Super late responding back but thanks for the direction.
Manipulation of the Slit Tunnel and Slit Scan worked great. The client loved it.

Hmm…maybe I’m just looking for a generic tunnel tutorial. Preferably for Motion but After Effects is fine too. It doesn’t need to twist and turn like the newer Doctor Who opening. I realize that Motion or AE can’t quite handle the complexity in the newer stuff. I’m just looking to get something that looks relatively like it.
I’m working on a Corporate piece with a time travel theme and they want different vortexes/time tunnel between scenes.

I ended up just having to render it overnight. Noise Reduction was off. There were a couple of photos that were 2x raster but most of them weren’t.
The project is done now and it was successful. It would have been interesting to cut a new sample project in both FCP and Premiere just to compare the render speeds. Oh well, I don’t have access to Premiere right now to try.
Thanks for the input!

Nope. No Blur.
Lots of text with slow moves (position and scale). The editor that I inherited this project from used Basic 3D for every single simple text move. I thought THAT was causing such long export times. However, I removed them all yesterday and did simple moves on them and it still takes 5 hours. Oh beyond text, I have several photos with position and scale keyframes on them.
The exports look good at least. It would be great if I could make them happen just a little faster.
I just know a similar project in FCP wouldn’t take nearly as long. A fifth of the time at best.
