    We have also been experiencing frequent crashes from working with the XDCAM codec in FCP. I have become convinced that we need to transcode everything to ProRes and eliminate cutting with XDCAM entirely. Question is, which ProRes? I have two projects:

    – 1st shot with EX3 at 35Mbps XDCAM, 4:2:0, 8bits
    – 2nd shot on to a NanoFlash at 100Mbps XDCAM, 4:2:2, 8bits

    Anyone have any thoughts on ProRes 422 vs HQ? Also, is there anything to be said about doing a conform to 4:4:4 for colour grading?
