Sound files match and 35 mm film is definitely 24 fps.

We have gotten the function to work but a new problem has arisen – I just posted it but here it is for you – any thoughts appreciated:

We are importing WAV files from our sound recordist (2 mono split tracks, 24 bit, 48k) so we can sync to our 23.98 picture in FCP (picture was film -> DVCam with FLX files -> in at 29.97, reverse telecine applied for a 23.98 project).

Some merged clips are having dropouts/ slight distortions. Our sequence presets are set to 23.98 when we import the clips, and they play in sync. However, the sound quality is not acceptable. The odd thing is that it doesn’t happen on all the clips or even clips of certain durations consistently (although I would say in general we are noticing this on longer clips).

We are really in a bind – we have new footage coming at us every day and we have to resolve this asap.

We also are not hearing the problems on the original files (or at least on the synced sound on the videotape – the only reason we are syncing ourselves is to get the 24bit as the DVCam is 16 bit).

Is there a setting we are missing somewhere? ANY ideas highly appreciated.

    Thank you!
