Thanks for the reply. I built this system specifically for video rendering. I did my research beforehand so the only video program I have installed is VMSHDP11. I also have not installed any other codecs or codec packs at all (also put this info in the original post). If this is a ver. 11 bug, then I guess I’m SOL since 12 is now out.
So next question: where does vegas install it’s codecs and/or is there a way to re-install them or verify they are where they are supposed to be?
Your preset suggestion, unfortunately, will not work for me. I am using around 500kbps and with the default audio settings getting about a 400MB file. However, I did try the MainConcept AVC and made my desired audio changes and it seems to render without problem (with the Sony AVC the error msg is instantaneous, the MC AVC render is currently running). I will see how the MC AVC render looks when it’s done. Otherwise, if I could change the audio settings in the Sony AVC, I think I could get an even smaller file, which I so desperately desire.
So, any other suggestions with how to correct this codec error would be greatly appreciated (other than trying to completely redo the pc).
