I wish there was a way to combine the uses of the XFile, EVS, and KiPro. It would make my world a lot easier. I currently have to make movie files in After Effects or Final Cut Pro, copy them to my KiPro drive, hook up the KiPro in a Production Truck, and play the content via the KiPro and record it using an EVS, so it is instantly available at any moment on a live sports production. One thing I wish was that I could use my mxf XFile files (which are saved clips from an EVS to an XFile) on Final Cut Pro. And I wish I could make files on FCP or After Effects that could be saved in the format an XFile could read, and then send to an EVS. But the only way to do this is with the very expensive Flip Factory, which also seems to have a lot of issues at times when using those files in playlist mode on an EVS.

    Gary,

Thanks for your help. Just to update, yesterday I tried to output my sequence as a Quicktime Movie. Once again the audio didn’t work. Instead I used QuickTime conversion and made the audio 24-bit, and that fixed my issues.

Is there a way to change my settings in FCP so my audio will be 24-bit in my sequence and when I render, that way I don’t have to do a Quicktime Conversion to output?

Also, Gary, I often make After Effects files that do not have audio. I have had complete success making a 720p 59.94 composition in AE, building a graphic, and then rendering said composition as Apple ProRes 422, then dragging the resulting movie file onto my KiPro drive, and the KiPro has had no issue outputting the file. I did notice there is no 24-bit audio option on AE, thus comps with audio cannot be rendered and immediately used on the KiPro.

Hope that helps (and makes sense).

When I output final cut movies and After Effects movies, the audio is still messed up. I’m not sure what to do. Anyone know what setting the audio has to be in order to work? The audio is just a loud, static, jarbled mess.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I always thought this was the best option, but when I do that, and I open the movie file on my desktop, it opens Final Cut in order to play the movie file. I always thought this was odd, as other movie files just used Quicktime. Oh well… I’ll try exporting this way, and see if it works.

Thanks Jeremy. I’ll give compressor a shot, and make sure the audio is 24 bit.

Wait, so does this mean the ioHD will never work with Snow Leopard?

Mine does the same thing, but it repeats a frame, then skips a frame, then continues at a normal rate. Also, I find my stutter problem occurs when the action on-screen is fast-moving (I work with hockey footage primarily, and the times when a puck it shot, or someone is hit, and the camera pans, the stutter tends to happen). I am going to call AJA this week and see if I can have someone look at it, as I need to be using it full-time again in October.

How do I reset my ioHD to the original purchased state, that way I can start over from scratch with the firmware updating process?

    Thanks,

    Jeff
