Is it possible to show this info under it’s own metadata column? The dynamic media column only shows that info for clips that were created in CC.

  • At this point I don’t expect a fix, especially for CS6, I was just wondering if I was overlooking a fix or perhaps another field that shows the codec. We daily get in hundreds of differently formatted videos and to be able to glance down a list to confirm they are our correct specs would be extremely useful. FCP7 can do this so issues like this are severely impacting our decision to move to Premiere.

Thanks for your input Tim! I’ll add this issue to the evergrowing list of “reasons to upgrade to CC” to give to my boss haha

  • My apologies, this is on a Mac. FCP 7 had no issues identifying the files, and I’m able to see the metadata on individual files when I right click properties. I can’t speak for CC as it’s not cost effective right now for my company to switch from one capital expense purchase for licences (cs6) to a reoccurring subscription expense for CC. We have over 200 seats to license and previously we upgraded every other version. However, I digress as this thread is about why metadata doesn’t show up in a specific field, not about the differences between CS6 and CC.

  • A year later, this is still an issue. I have several H.264 and ProRes422HQ videos in my project bin and none of them show the codec. If I right click-properties each individual file I can see the codec. Why doesn’t this column populate correctly?

This is in Premiere Pro CS6.
