Thank you, Steve. Yes, you are right, I got that. That’s why I started looking at other options, since my idea is to use the 5D as a single operator. And autofocus does not yield the best results often times. Just checking some options, I’ll have a look at your suggestions. Thanks!

I’ll have a look at it. But I’m not quite convinced that I should leave my 5D aside for these projects despite all of the cons. I do like the results I get with it. Also, I’ve read that the new Canon 70D has a very efficient autofocus for video. Have you already tested it? I agree that everything is changing so fast, that buying expensive rigs is not a good idea, as a new enhancement may quickly make it useless. That’s why I thought of finding a less pricey solution. On the other hand, I don’t want to buy one of these props you never user afterwards. Well, I’ll have a look at RX10. Thank you!

Hi, ya! Thank you for your reply.
I’m trying to get this information from the producer. They used 3 cameras and I believe Sony HXR NX5 was one of them.
I’m using FCP 7, but I was forced to abort this project! Amazing.
The first clip (a 2.5-hour long clip) took me 5 days and crashed at the end. So I tried another approach. I had to dig some space in my internal HD and ran everything on it. I’m using FCP 7. Anyway, it took me another day to reach half of it, then I simply gave up.
I just can’t figure out what’s going on. I mean, it is not a slow machine, I used the ProRes (proxy) codec and yet I can’t do it. I think I’ll switch back to Premiere 🙁

Hi, Shane. Thank you for your helpful explanation. In fact, I’d heard that many people were moving to Premiere, but I have been planning to move to FCP for long time, and I actually feel I must be able to use any of them, because producers usually request the use of different software depending on the project. And, to be honest, it was kind of easy to use final cut once you know how to use other software, it’s all about learning the specific aspects, shortcuts and skills, since the concepts remain the same. Though, from my first impression, whether it is a dead version or not, I can tell you that FCP impressed me a lot. Everything you need is there.
