I have been having the EXACT SAME issues. For years I have used PNGs with no problem in FCP and Motion. Now all of a sudden PNGs work only in FCP 7 but not in Motion 4 and TIFFs with transparency only work in Motion 4 and not in FCP 7! Running FCP 7.0.3

There seems to be no answer anywhere online regarding this issue only people saying change out you work or do some crazy saving thing to make it work. There is nothing weird here except that it has stopped working. I have also noticed that now I cannot save QT Movie with PNG transparency out of Final Cut, have always done it, now all of a sudden no transparency. Apple must have a glitch with QT or FCP or both….

Anyone have any solutions? Other than save some weird file type or change your work flow?
