nothing happens, the little circle load icon appears next to the mouse for a second (running windows 7) and then nothing happens. Also when i have the task manager open and try to open vegas, “vegas110.exe” appears for a second the dissapears

  • figured something out: 11 cant handle it worth diddly so downgraded to vegas pro 10.e using .ts files to see if that helps and changed my video settings on the ps3 from 720p to 1080i and it worked. apparntly vegas cant handle recordings at 720p but can handle it at 1080i. sad, now working on a solution to see if i can get it to work at 720p, the facts are solid:

Windows Movie Maker: Can handle both 720p and 1080i recordings

Vegas Pro: Has to be a certain build (pro 10.e and can only handle 1080i.

does no one else see something wrong with this?

  • tried uninstalling codecs/reinstalling vegas and it didnt work, ive also tried all 3 formats M2TS, TS and Mp4 and none of them work

actually theres a pretty neat trick you could try, render it using these settings:

(i have vegas 11 so if yours is different my apologies)

    1st: click render as…
    2nd: choose “Sony AVC/MVC (mp4.mt2s.avc)
    3rd: (the tricky part)

Video Format: AVC, Resolution: 1920×1080, Entropy Coding: CABAC, Frame Rate: 25 or 29 fps whichever you like both work for me, pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000, bit rate: 2,000,000

Audio: Format: AAC, Sample: 48,000, Bit Rate: 192,000

    System: Format: MP4

    Project: Video Rendering Quality: Best

these settings should give you an HD video with low size, most of the time it works for me HOWEVER its highly dependant on the source it comes from, if your video is HD it’ll come out in HD, give it a try and see if it works

well as far as a transition effect, is there a specific one in vegas i should look for? and by having a person in front of a transparent background, do you mean like a green screen or somthing?
