    Good morning Mylenium,
Thank you for taking the time to write.
If I understand you correctly the AI text doc should originate @72 DPI? Also unable to convert any AI imported text to

Excelent suggetions Curtis…..shall strip some of that preload code and if nothing else it will make the page leaner.
FYI I am testing on my system which is a screaming Windows machine with high speed DSL. It indeed would be interesting to test on others.

Thank you for your continued interest.

Thank you for taking the time to write.
NO…….I haven’t changed a thing. My comments based on the performance I am witnessing on my system (PC) with IE and Mozilla. I thought my connnection was screaming fast??? Is your system “typical”?

    Filip,
Thank you for taking the time to write. Much appreciated.
Just to clarify: If I see a decimal on a PSD imported text file 0.5 for example on just one axis then I should match a corresponding decimal in position for just that axis only or both X & Y?

    Many thanks,

    Good morning Bob,
Excellent suggestions…thank you however the input to the PVM via the Decklink is definitely ‘greener’ than the VTR play back. A fire wire signal via a D?A converter and S video in to the PVM is much closer to the playback image both in chroma and contrast/brightness. Why is there no a way to

  • Thank you for your thoughts today Ben. Shall check out Procoder when poss.

    Are…I see. Thanks.
No matter how I ‘tweaked’ Procoder its MPEG2 output for me was totally unacceptable. I have made it a mission to test every MPEG2 encoder demo I can get my hands on. Since my reel (DVD) is my calling card I have attempted to make it as quality driven as possible.

I am a DP so I see my footage come straight of the Spirit and though the DaVinci 2K in all its 35mm glory in state of the art post bays so I guess my expectations from my own system are rather high. Sourcing from the digibetas 10Bit SDI via Decklink into AE for color correction.

Having only 12 or so commercials on my reel cramming bits is not the issue, simply the best encoding engine possible 8kbps CBR with Cinema Craft basic has yielded amazing results. The GUI is from the stone ages but the output excellent and for $68 hard to believe.

Thanks for your reply Ben. I ‘dumped’ ProCoder last year because of its tragic MPEG2 encoding quality. Perhaps it’s time to revisit. Does ProCoder alow one to embedd meta data?
If Windows Media Encoder doesn’t support QT source files why does it do such an oustanding job on my files as long as De-interlace is not checked?

    Cheers,
