    comp settings

    preset=hdtv 1080 29.97 1920×1080 16:9

    render settings output

    format=quicktime

    video codec= animation
    sound codec=apple lossless 44.100khz

    pictures are png format
    the sound mp3
    type used within AE

    the quicktime animation codec was made using idvd. i selected the movie and it started burning.
    all I want is a 16:9 aspect ratio. I have no hd material. I tried to make another comp using ntsc dv widescreen and fit to comp from the hdtv 1080p comp and rendered using animation followed by idvd. the same result.
    the current comp is set to hdtv 1080p. I thought becasue my tv is 1080p hd why not. wrong. i used ae like 12 years ago but used media 100 for compression. I don’t know if this is a compression issue using a quicktime animation codec then to idvd. idvd didn’t give me the option to select any compression.

    can you explain a little more please on “high-quality file is what you want to use to make MPEG2 files.”

    so i can render out everything animation format. so in the output module i use MPEG2 H.264 (top of window) and for the video output it’s animation?

    or do I format to quicktime/codec animation then compress to H.264 with seperate software?

    All I know are some basics. But when it comes to compressing, outputing and how to make it perform better, I know nothing. With that said any suggestions in making it perform better?

    I have three videos that have in and out points
    that I compressed from a sonogram dvd that I got from the hospital. used MPEG Streamclip.app to convert them into Apple PNG, 640 x 480, Millions
    16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz, files are pretty big. range from 800 mb to 2.5 gigs. I got the compression info from these forums for the video. no third party effects. pictures, masks and text. now I’m having a hard time being able to play sound.

    I’m trying to make a video for my girls first b-day and I thought how come this is so sluggish. My thoughts are the videos.

    well I have a dvd burner and idvd.
    I think i just realized that maybe I just need 16:9 ratio.

    Comp Settings
    preset- HDTV 1080 29.97
    no advanced

    Render Queue Settings
    render settings- best

    output module
    format- quicktime
    output info- mpeg-4 video
    spatial quality=100

    these settings got me to 235 mb rather than 2.4 gig file size better quality too. are these settings ok. I guess I thought i needed hd quality in order to be able to watch it on an hdtv. oops.
