FCPX is currently my main editor on my Macbook Pro based system. I haven’t loaded 10.0.4 yet, but I’m looking forward to better performance. I also own the Adobe Master Suite and upgrading to CS6 seems worthwhile at this point. I have one of the supported OpenCL cards on my Macbook Pro, so that is exciting. I love editing without rendering! Most of my work now is corporate and FCPX is perfect for that. I’m pursuing more TV spot work which would be a great opportunity for putting Premiere & AE CS6 through their paces. So, basically, I don’t feel a need to choose between Apple and Adobe when I can have both! Smoke is not really on my radar at this point, but I’ll definitely keep a curious eyeball on it.

You should have thanked them. Urine is a great fertilizer. The nitrogen tends to evaporate if applied to hot soil, though, so it’s best if the dogs pee on your trees at night.

I’d guess two factors are involved in that. That MacPro sales are all but gone and that this is a Glossy monitor.”
I’d probably have one on my desk right now if they offered a matte screen option.

I’m using it for everything I do at the moment; (mostly 1-4 minute direct-to-the-web stuff), except if I’m doing effects or animation (then it’s After Effects).
Top feature for me: Editing on my Macbook Pro without rendering. Also, I wouldn’t want to give up the Motion created graphics templates that save me so much time. Third best feature: Keywording.
One feature I’d like to see in the next release: even more realtime performance!

I think you’d be amazed at what you can achieve with just an actor moving slowly in front of a greensreen and a virtual set in After Effects.
