I say put your money into better audio. How many flying shots do you really need? IMO, one of the worst things a newbie can do is buy a steadicam. Instant case of Steadicamitisâ„¢. Every single shot is flying, moving, floating, twirling. It’s happening all over again with the new compact gyroscopic rigs like the Movi. It’s distracting and takes away from the story in many cases. You need a good tripod/head combo (which can easily run in the thousands). Beyond that, a shoulder rig is nice for going mobile.

Yep. I had an OWC SSD blink out on me (never to awake again). It was less than a year old.

That’s right. Diamonds are forever! A high-end graphics card, on the other hand, has a limited shelf-life.

This brings back bad memories of an hours long render in Speed Razor on Windows NT back in ’99, I think. Deadline approaching, things looking good; then the screen saver kicks in and locks up the machine and destroys the render 🙂
