I’m not sure when there will be a mac solution that can be replicated. Right now the format for the replicators BDCMF is complex and requires a lot of effort to approved. Adobe seems to be waiting for this feature from Sonic, and Sonic DVDit has had some problems with replicators. So not sure when it’ll come to the mac.

Also just read that NetBlender did announce their Blu-Ray tool
https://dostudio.netblender.com/dostudio.asp They seem to be calling it DoStudio Author Edition, again that doesn’t work for the Mac but it is cheaper then Sony’s and Sonics. They charge $249 per month with no contract. I am not sure if it works with Bootcamp though.

BD authoring is much more complex then DVD authoring as far as the “guts” go, that is only if you want seamless menus. You can actually use DVDit and a product by Ulead if you want basic old school menus (the ones we do now with DVD). All else is another story. There are three options: HDMV mode which is using 8-bit images and muxing them into the streams and also adding basic logic, such as simple animations. Then there is BD-J mode with is full Java coding. The 3rd option is a combo of HDMV mode and BD-J mode, a good example is the movie Cars. This uses both
