So you achieve RAID 0+1, by using the Sonnet Controller for RAID 0, and either Disk Utility or SoftRAID to add RAID 1 mirroring correct? I couldn’t find any data that SoftRAID alone could do RAID 0+1.

I’ve been thinking about trying to put together one of these, with maybe up to 8 drives.

The real bummer is that don’t seem to have any PCI controllers for Mac yet that can handle RAID 3/RAID XL. Having to double to the number of drives for redundancy is such a waste IMO.

Thanks for the link to the SwiftData 200, it definately may be an option as well.
