I’m actually in sync playing back DVCPro1080 with a 4 frame offset. I just picked up an FSI 24″ panel and have noticed I sync issues. I set it from 0 to 4 frames as a result, but come to think of it, I updated the Kona driver at the same time. Could there be an issue there?

This is one of the main reasons I’m about to buy the 2450. Their rep came to our office with all four of their monitors to compare to our Panny LCDs… We were all blown away. Maybe it’s because I run my shop right down the road from their HQ, but I actually feel like my $5K will be spent wisely and with the confidence that they will stand behind their product, and if I have an issue, I can pick up the phone, talk to a person and have my problem addressed.
My 2 cents… But I am confident that my Panny LCD will make quite a nice client desk monitor by next month!

September 29, 2009 at 4:56 pm in reply to: unable to submit queue in compressor maybe snow leopardI was having that issue with Studio 2 and Leopard. It was a clean install on both and for whatever reason, I kept running into it. I found this and it fixed the problem:

Clean install to SL and Studio 3 has yielded no problems. Good luck!

I have a similar set up, 8-core, 2TB RAID 0, plenty fast… When I upgraded to FCS3 and SL I got dropped frame warnings constantly when playing back HD sequences that played fine before the upgrade. Frustration set in and thoughts of a complete re-install entered my mind… but then I just unchecked the check box in the drop frame window….
And guess what… everything is playing back fine! Weird… I’ve watched sequences through wondering if it was just skipping frames and there is nothing…. It’s fine.
I don’t know why, and I hope someone can figure it out, but it’s working for me.
Good luck…

So apparently I downloaded and installed AJA Mac Plug-ins for Adobe CS4 Version 6.5 listed here:
https://www.aja.com/support/kona/kona-3-3x.phpThe driver comes with an uninstaller and after running that and updating my cards firmware, the issue has been resolved. I don’t quite know what caused the problem, but I have fixed it.
FYI….

you CANNOT prepare for the future now, and your investment that you have made will be OBSOLETE, and you will spend more money – and continue to do so – just like all of us do – over and over and over again – as long as you are in this industry.
Well said Bob… It’s good to be reminded of this fact every now and again.

Ah…. so it’s not a quality issue, but a workflow issue.
Thanks for the response… I wish I’d read this about 10 minutes ago before I started my “Export using Compressor…”
Thanks again!

Interesting. Can anyone explain WHY “Export using Compressor” isn’t an option here? Just curious.

Here is the clearest description I can give: NEVER USE OPEN GL. In After Effects, it is basically useless.
Hey Dave… that was a clear description. Do you mind offering a little insight on why you feel that way?
Thanks!
