December 1, 2010 at 10:16 pm in reply to: Does 5D + Magic lantern + Juicedlink pre-amp = audio capture success?Hey Ty,
Okay. I guess I should just proceed with the ML update and see where it takes me. coming from a point of dissatisfaction with JuicedLink, what other pre-amp would you recommend? Please keep in mind that although most of the time, my sound guy will be hand holding whatever configuration I finally come up with, there will be times when it will all be attached to the Handy SLR rig that I use. Between the camera, the marshall monitor, ballast, shade, everything adds up in weight pretty fast so the lighter the better. Neither could it be a pre-amp that is overly bulky with relation to mass. Thanks in advance for your help on this amigo. Flux capacitor replaced.

You’re the 3rd CC peer to suggest that today. I wish it were that easy a fix.

Oh Yeah,
How come it doesn’t apply to our household?

BTW, I apologize profusely for not seeing your comment earlier and for taking so long to thank you.

Hey Ty,
Thanks for taking the time to help. I found the correct drivers on the MOTU site and installed them on my new computer. It is working like a charm now. Again, thanks.
JaredBTW, you got some axe skills. Loved your guitar work. You made YouTubes audio player sound fantastic (when in reality it sucks and YT really needs to get their act together where that is concerned).

Hey Ty,
Thanks for taking the time to help. I found the correct drivers on the MOTU site and installed them on my new computer. Switching to the Mac Pro tower presented some issues. I just got back from the Mac store with a replacement after other issues arose that suggested there was trouble with it’s RAM. It is working like a charm now. Again, thanks.

Hey Ronnie,
Thanks for coming to my aid. At this juncture I only have FCP 6.0.6. I just did my conversions to Pro-Res 422 and they seem to be editing nicely in the sequence. I do however look forward to the day when my pro-res compression choices expand. I think I will wait to purchase any FCP upgrade though since the prevailing wisdom suggests an upgrade from Apple is due here soon.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer each part of my inquiry. I appreciate the organizational stratification of each of the topics as you addressed them. It’s clear you write and think like an editor. Thanks for all of the tips. It will help my learning curve be a little less treacherous as I navigate through it.

Much thanks to yourself and Phil, and the rest who have so quickly responded to my question(s). FCP Philanthropy, alive and well to those of us who stand in need. Seriously, thanks for taking the time. Very generous.
