MOTU 896hd doesn’t work with MacPro
Hey everyone,
Scored a nice job recently that afforded me the opportunity to re-invest in my business. Went from an I-mac duo-core to a MacPro 8 core with six gigs of ram. Just finished shooting that same job, and was hoping to edit more efficiently (faster). Disappointed to find myself bogged down even slower than before with new system glitches. One of the main issues is the inability to get my MOTU 896hd to work with the new MacPro. I can’t even lay down a simple V.O.. It was working fine with the newest version of Snow Leopard and my Imac. I am not sure if I ever had it installed correctly, but it played the computer audio through my monitors nicely and always was there when I needed to lay down a V.O. or instrument for a jingle. I know it is overkill for my application, and maybe the answer is going with something simpler, maybe a two track something or other. Please let me know what you guys think. Kind of dead in the water here and would love some opinion/help.If anyone can help me trouble shoot this issue I would be very grateful.

The MOTO is recognized in the Apple Audio/MIDI control panel (in the utilities folder) as well as Sound Preferences?

Hey Ty,
Thanks for taking the time to help. I found the correct drivers on the MOTU site and installed them on my new computer. Switching to the Mac Pro tower presented some issues. I just got back from the Mac store with a replacement after other issues arose that suggested there was trouble with it’s RAM. It is working like a charm now. Again, thanks.

JaredBTW, you got some axe skills. Loved your guitar work. You made YouTubes audio player sound fantastic (when in reality it sucks and YT really needs to get their act together where that is concerned).
