A bit late for an answer, but since I just found out how to do it… 😉

1) Open the Font Book.
2) Find the font you want to use.
3) Click the second icon from the left (the one with the arranged dots).
4) Find the character you need.
5) Drag the character from Font Book into the application (e.g. PPro’s Titler).
