Aha found out myself.

Basically I needed to add a marker to the wav file in AE, and then right click on the Marker and choose Update Markers From Source (replaces all markers)

Yeah I already am using that technique, but was really after an expression so that I can make the project a lot easier for other people to pick up and use.
