I came across this last night. Had just upgraded to 9.1 and run the full version of Resolve (not Lite). I ended up just creating a new sequence in FCP and copying the media from the 30fps timeline to the new 29.97 timeline. Everything seemed to match up with this extra step.

I have this issue with one of my projects and tried tons of different things to try and sort this out. It only affected material that was captured from DVCProHD material from FCP. I’m pretty sure it’s a bug in resolve based on certain media creation types. I was never able to get it sorted but just graded from the Master Timeline in the end and rendered with same names. The other 3 shows I’m working at the moment don’t have these issues.

For me the baked in sizing is not helpful and wish the info could just be sent via the XML so that my sizing info is handled by FCP like in my original timeline. I work with a lot of interlaced TV shows. I had tried a bunch of approaches but in the end had to ignore scaling and redo them manually in FCP. When I tried using resolve with scaling it would mess up the interlacing some how. Once there was an effect in FCP on this rendered file interlacing was all mangled. Also, sometimes my scaling is layered so it needs to have transparency and when rendering with ProRes this is not possible. This is an area that could be heavily improved in my opinion.

I had this issue the other day. There was a file in the timeline that DaVinci did not like. I had to render by sections and had to figure out which file this was causing the issue and not render it as it would crash DaVinci.

I had to break the show up in sections. There was a file once rendered that it did not like. With an hour long show this was an arduous process but in the end after many extra hours was able to get it back to FCP. Before the timeline would be rendered, I could send the XML back..but once it rendered a certain file it would just crash during the XML stage.

For me, I’ve been using Color for a while and am finally looking to start my first project with Resolve. I have 8 up and running but with the big interface overhaul I don’t want to start learning something that changes quite a bit in 9. Hoping to get an update from balckmagic…i

I have a project starting in a few days and have been checking all the time waiting for the release. I really hope they provide an update soon.
