Hey I tried what you mentioned getting my sequence to a SxS card using FCP but no luck. Wondering if you had any thoughts.

Using FCP 6.0.6
Footage imports fine.
Cut my seq
Now, want to export…. File>>>>Export>>>>XDCAM>>>>here is where I may be making a mistake. I see no option that will let me make a .MP4. Only option that makes sense is XDCAM 1080/30p (35mpegs/sec). I select this. It exports to card. I actually see file on card.

Now I use XDCAM transfer to “Refresh” the sxs card. Nothing comes up? I also used the camera – no luck.

So somewhere there is a missing step. XDCAM clip browser is version 2.5.1

Do i have to download something specific for FCP in order to rewrap file for .MP4? If so what?

Thanks for taking the time to help out. I’m not a FCP user, so this is new steps for me.

Damn! Not even the new MC 5.5 can do this????

But from what you are saying, FCP can export a mp4 HD file to my SxS card, and then i could play it out of my camera – in true HD? 1920x1080i. Which version of FCP does this?

I totally agree with David. Everything about the Panasonic af100 sounds fantastic to me – EXCEPT – the motorized zoom control. If I don’t have it – well that’s another game changer for me too….which swings me back to the Sony EX3 /EX1. I shoot a lot of concerts and need nice smooth motion in and out.

Does anyone know if there will be a compatible zoom lens? I can’t believe Panasonic would leave this out!!!!
