    Hi Ted,

Thanks for that. Would even a mid-range Nvidea card work better than a ‘performace’ Radeon card, simply because of the core architecture?

    Thanks Walter,

I was quite blown away by Paul’s post saying he has 64GB of RAM. I definitely need to get that sorted out.

I’ll check out the links provided and get AE optimised on our workstations.

  • Thanks Dan,

I haven’t had a moment to try your expression yet, as I’m juggling a few different projects. I’ll let you know as soon as I try it out.

    Cheers.

  • I’ve used this expression:

    loopOut(type = “cycle”, numKeyframes = 0);

to loop a few simple keyframes, which is working well.

Anyone know of an expression that eliminates keyframes altogether?

    Hi Dave,

After I posted my question earlier on today I actually did a refined search of the Creative Cow forum and discovered a thread called ‘Key frame boondoggle.’ dated Apr 25, 2007 where somebody asked a similar question to mine.
In this thread you answered the query in detail, explaining the Toggle Hold Keyframe command, and it worked a treat, job done!

In a way, I guess I should thank you twice, once for the 3-year-old-answer, and once for today’s.

So, Thank You, and Thank You.

    Regards,

August 27, 2010 at 10:02 am in reply to: After Effects vs. Final Cut Pro

After Effects and Final Cut Pro are completely different applications.

Final Cut Pro is used for telling the story. It is capable of wonderful effects and compositing and has an array of plug-ins that can enhance the visuals, but it pales in comparison to AE.

After Effects is used for making exciting and stunning visuals, and completely dominates over Final Cut Pro in this sense. AE is capable of a vast array of effects, and is limited by your imagination. However, you would not use After Effects to edit together a story… that is Final Cut’s domaine.

    Hope that helps.

    James.
