I’m am VERY interested in your cross-platform workflow.

I’m needing to upgrade my 2008 Mac Pro and have looked long and hard at the new Mac Pro tube computer. Very sexy, but not sure if it will be the best fit.

Because a lot of my clients require Mac platform stuff and I work with other editors on a Mac, I’m trying to find a cross-platform workflow that’s seamless.

What are you doing with it?

Because you’ve ‘trimmed’ the clip so that’s not the ‘physical’ start of the clip.

Dan, you are a genius. Wow, that math is crazy.

I have no idea what is going on (for the most part) but was able to adjust stride, etc. to get things working nicely.

I’m a former programmer (Actionscript, Javascript, database, etc.) but never did crazy math like that.

The first time I tried it there, it didn’t work, but I figured out my Adjustment Layer needs to be 2D and NOT 3D and then it works like a charm.

I HOPE the folks at Adobe are going to add the Transition and Effect favorites like we have in Final Cut Pro in the next version, and quickly.

That saves me a TON of time to be able to throw out a 1 frame audio transition to fix a ‘pop’ between two clips or a quick 4 frame dissolve between two clips.

I’ve put that in the request form a couple of times and have asked all my FCP buddies to do the same.

That’s a BIG thing for a lot of us.

If Adobe is smart, they will bring in some FCP users and figure out what’s missing in Premiere Pro.

Adobe is in the ‘cat bird’ seat right now, and they can capitalize on this if they want to.

If they don’t, I will eventually be forced to spend extra $$ and move to Avid. I’d rather work in Adobe as I already use all the other Adobe tools every day.

I’ve posted feature requests based on what FCP can do and what PP can’t. Hopefully they are listening and will make the changes.

Having transition favorites is one of my requests. I don’t want to klutz with the mouse every time I need to bring in a 10 frame dissolve, etc.

OK, here’s what I think is happening.

When you import a Photoshop document into FCP that has layers, it creates a sequence named after the Photoshop file.

In the sequence, there is one track per layer.

For some reason, the info on each track is updating, but the position of each layer/track is not updating.
